Building The Next B2B Digital Marketing Success Story: KoMarketing Acquired by Walker Sands
When KoMarketing made a commitment to building our own inbound marketing channel that demonstrated our expertise in the B2B digital marketing space, I’d write a blog post a week. The goal was the same (if not more) than we’d tell any of our clients: build SEO traffic value, improve our keyword presence in Google search results, and generate leads to assist sales efforts.
And the lessons learned helped shape and improve our SEO content marketing success across client programs and for our own digital marketing endeavors.
My specific writing contributions have grown less frequent over the years, as we have been fortunate enough to scale content marketing across the team and have found colleagues that write much better than I ever could.
Fast forward more than ten years to the present day, and I can’t believe I failed to write a single blog post in 2022. Last year flew by and it was another tremendous year of hard work, growth, and success for our organization.
To kick off 2023, I’m excited and honored to have the first contribution to our blog — and with a big announcement.
We’re starting the new year by sharing the news that KoMarketing is now a Walker Sands company. Walker Sands is a full-service marketing firm focused on accelerating the growth of B2B brands.
A lot has changed since KoMarketing was essentially a six-person team in a small office in Waltham, Massachusetts. We’ve moved to downtown Boston, we’ve seen our share of successes and learning experiences, and we’ve grown through the struggles of a worldwide pandemic. Through it all, I have continued to have the good fortune of working with great team members and clients.
Since 2004, KoMarketing has been helping B2B companies grow through highly customized search, social media, and content marketing programs. While there are always challenges when making a decision like this, our core values are so well aligned with those of Walker Sands and I have the utmost confidence that this is a win-win, offering new opportunities and success for clients and team members.
Expanding Our Integrated Marketing Capabilities
When we were first approached by Walker Sands, it felt like a natural fit to combine their deep knowledge of B2B marketing with our expertise in digital marketing and demand generation.
Like KoMarketing, Walker Sands also specializes in creating custom-tailored programs to meet clients’ needs through excellence in public relations, social media, marketing strategy, and branding with world-class creative and a strong technical backbone across demand generation, marketing automation, and web. While we will help strengthen Walker Sands’ existing demand generation capabilities, in turn Walker Sands will allow us to offer a full suite of integrated marketing capabilities.
With a focus on B2B technology and professional services companies, Walker Sands also brings a wide range of industry expertise to KoMarketing. The Walker Sands client roster ps across artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, enterprise software, fintech, martech, retail tech and more.
Combined, we’ll be able to work toward our shared goals of driving real results for our clients and providing growth opportunities for KoMarketing team members.

From early conversations, it was clear we shared several things in common: a commitment to our craft, strong core values and a people-first philosophy. Walker Sands’ mission is to accelerate growth — of their clients, industry and people — which resonated deeply.
For our people and KoMarketing as a whole, we will have access to new offices and learning opportunities and will be supported by strong corporate resources, systems, and the expertise of a larger agency.
Our newly combined agency has more than 200 full-time employees across remote locations and five offices in Boston, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and Atlanta.

We’re excited to be joining forces with one of the fastest-growing agencies in the world and look forward to a year of learning from one another and growing together.
Maybe I’ll even get the opportunity to write another blog post or two for KoMarketing and the Walker Sands blog in the new year and beyond as well.
