SearchLove Boston
Boston, MA: April 30th & May 1st
I am really excited to be speaking at SearchLove Boston. The Distilled team puts on a great show and the format is unique in that there is only one session happening at any given time. Headed to the show or looking to follow along on Twitter? Here are the details:
- Session: Customer Experience and It’s Impact on Search
- Session Date: Thursday, April 30th 2:30pm
- Session Overview:
Of course, search inevitably comes back to the basic elements like keywords, content and links. But how we plan campaigns, create our content, and acquire links is now much more dependent on our customers and those talking about us online. Using real life examples, Casie will explore how the customer experience is impacting search and how businesses can help drive and encourage those conversations.
- What to Expect:
With the explosion of social media and our ability to interact with brands in ways we never have before, it’s really changed the way we discover new things and more importantly, how we search. I will be discussing how and where this shift has occurred, what it means for businesses, and how we as search marketers must adjust.
Discover Global Markets: The Americas
Miamai, FL: May 12th – May 14th
The Discover Series is a wonderful set of events put on by the U.S Commercial Services department. Derek will be on a panel with Monique Gibelli of Microsoft, discussing how International businesses can utilize search and social in their export strategy. Here are the session details:
- Session: Utilizing E-Commerce and Social Media in an Export Strategy
- Session Date: Wednesday, May 13th 11am
- Session Overview:
E-commerce, the Internet, and social media are all important conduits for your sales, both in the U.S. and worldwide. How common is it to sell over the Internet in the Americas? What do you need to know regarding reaching your customers there, the prevalence of online sales by country, and search engine optimization? This dynamic session will give you the information you need to leverage your web site and social media to make sales.
- What to Expect:
The complexity in launching an online marketing program in one market is challenging enough; let alone in multiple countries, languages, and audiences. In this panel presentation, Derek will be discussing how to proactively address common challenges and pitfalls as well as best practices in building out an internationally focused e-commerce program.
In addition to the Miami event, Derek will also be heading to Raleigh May 7th for the Export University 201 event in support of export strategies for organizations in the Mid-Atlantic region. Stay tuned for more details!
Digital Marketing for Business Raleigh
Raleigh, NC: May 12th – May 14th
The Digital Marketing for Business show really covers the online marketing landscape. Last year was my first time attending this show and I truly enjoyed it. Aside from the fact that Raleigh is near and dear to my heart, the DMFB team did a great job of finding talented speakers, including a variety of sessions, and making it fun. Here are the details:
- Session: Content Marketing: Creating a Promotion Plan that Works
- Session Date: Thursday, May 14th 3pm
- Session Overview:
The idea of “If you build it, they will come” doesn’t apply to content. In fact, with so much content being created every day, just getting your piece to stand out has become a major challenge for businesses. The good news is, content marketing, when done right, can drive traffic, social shares, and links. More importantly, it can drive the right traffic, social shares from industry influencers, and links from relevant sources. The key is in the promotion strategy. In this session, we will look at how businesses can create a content promotion strategy from start to finish. Understand how to identify relevant post topics, find and reach influencers, and get those influencers to share your content when it launches. We will also look at real life examples and the tools that can help content marketers succeed.
- What to Expect:
Often times you’ll attend a conference, get some good tips, but not necessarily walk away with an understanding of how to actually implement them. Not in my house! This session will very much be a how-to in understanding your existing content strategy and creating a promotion strategy that will actually work.
There’s More!
In addition to these shows, I’ll be attending SMX Advanced in Seattle June 2nd & 3rd while Derek heads to the Internet Retailer Conference in Chicago June 2nd – June 5th.
We are really excited to get on the road, meet some new people, see some old friends, and come back with new strategies and tactics to try out.
If you or your team members are headed to any of these shows, let us know. We’d love to connect!
