Keeping Up with KoMarketing: Team Updates, Events & More

With the fall season upon us, there’s a lot happening here at KoMarketing. We have a new team member, a number of conferences to attend, and our fantasy football league has officially kicked off. Here are all the updates you need to know:

Welcome Dennis Cohen!

Dennis CohenFirst and foremost, we are super excited to welcome Dennis Cohen, a West Roxbury native and die hard Boston sports fan to the KoMarketing team. Dennis joined us in August as an SEO analyst and has already proven to be a great addition.

Dennis graduated from the University of Delaware and has a background in both SEO and digital marketing. A few fun facts about Dennis:

  • He ran track for Fenway high school
  • His father owns a PR company here in Boston
  • He owns a tailless cat named “Cyber”

Be sure to connect with Dennis on LinkedIn and Twitter and give him a big welcome.

SMX East, The DMA & More

With the fall season comes the fall conferences. A few KoMarketers are getting their bags packed and will be traveling to several conferences over the next couple months. We hope to see you at one of these events!

Discover 2013 – September 16th-18th – Raleigh, NC

Discover 2013As a U.S Commercial Service marketing partner, several members of the KoMarketing team will be traveling to Raleigh next week to participate in Discover 2013. According to the U.S Commercial Services department:

“DISCOVER 2013 is the premier conference for U.S. companies that want to explore new export market development strategies, innovative tools to be competitive, and the next wave of rapidly growing markets.”

KoMarketing will have a table at the show and both Steven Wells (our Managing Partner) and I will be speaking on a panel September 18th. Details of the panel are as follows:

Diverse Technology Environments and the Impact on International Marketing

Online and mobile promotions should be based on understanding the IT landscape in emerging international markets. What are the various internet and mobile phone penetration rates? Is social media truly a global phenomenon that should be taken into account by SMEs seeking to build their global brand? This session promises to answer these and other questions surrounding your international on-line marketing strategy.

The international market is becoming more and more important for businesses, particularly those online, and we are looking forward to bringing some of our international SEO expertise to the show.

SMX East 2013 – October 1st-3rd – New York, NY

SMX EastSMX East once again takes NYC by storm this October with over 50 sessions related to SEO, SEM, and social media. On October 3rd, I will be speaking on a content marketing panel alongside some brilliant minds to discuss what content marketing really means in 2013.

Conversation: Content: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

In May, Google changed its webmaster guidelines for improving ranking, eliminating its long-standing advice to seek out high quality links. Now, Google recommends “creating high quality sites that users will want to use and share.” That means Google now considers quality content one of the most, if not the most important ranking factor. Join us for this no-PowerPoint-permitted discussion of what makes content “high quality” and how search engines recognize it.

Be on the lookout for live conference tweets from the KoMarketing twitter account. There’s always really great information being thrown around.

MarketingProfs B2B Marketing Forum – October 10th & 11th – Boston, MA

MarketingProfs B2B ForumWe are big fans of MarketingProfs here at KoMarketing so we’d certainly be kicking ourselves if we didn’t attend their 7th annual B2B Marketing Forum in Boston this October.

Derek Edmond will be attending the two-day event, featuring sessions around Social CRM, B2B conversion optimization, buyer personas and more. Be sure to follow the KoMarketing Twitter feed as Derek will be tweeting from the event.

DMA 2013 – October 14th-16th – Chicago, IL

DMA-2013The DMA bills itself as “The Global Event for Data-Driven Marketers” and with so much of our focus, and our clients’ focus on creating sound, data-driven online marketing strategies, it’s sure to be a great show.

I will be headed out to the show October 14th to get the scoop on the latest marketing automation technology, lead generation tactics, data and analytics, and more.
