Boosting Leads and Customer Acquisition are Top Goals for Marketers in 2020

As marketers look ahead to the New Year, new research suggests that they already have a series of goals in mind, ranging from increasing sales leads to boosting customer engagement.

Ascend2 recently published the “2020 Digital Marketing Plans Survey,” and statistics showed that the majority of marketers (54%) want to increase the amount of sales leads generated in the New Year. About 49% want to boost customer acquisition, while 43% want to increase customer engagement. Nearly 38% would like to see a rise in brand awareness, and 33% want to improve the customer experience.

As of this year, most respondents (57%) said that their digital marketing plan has been at least “somewhat successful” at achieving some of these primary objectives. However, 39% of the best-in-class marketers said that they have been “very successful” at reaching their top goals.

Increasing customer acquisition (48%), increasing sales leads generated (48%) and boosting customer engagement (38%) are perceived to be the top challenges for year ahead.

Turning to Video Marketing in 2020

As the New Year comes into view, video is also expected to be an area of focus for marketers, according to previous research.

Pixability conducted its “2019 State of Digital Video” report, and the data suggested that the majority of companies are willing to boost their marketing team’s video budget by 1-10% in the coming year. Approximately 20% stated that they could potentially boost this budget by more than 10%.

When it comes to the platforms that marketers are using to post videos, Facebook is at the top of the list, with 90% of marketers saying they run video campaigns via the channel.
