Report: Social Media Marketing Channels are Delivering Across the Board
As more marketers turn to social media marketing to achieve their primary objectives, new research suggests that they are seeing more benefits than ever before.
Social Media Examiner recently published its “2021 Social Media Marketing Industry Report,” and statistics showed that all of the reported benefits of social media marketing have risen since 2020. Increased exposure rose from 86% to 88%, while increased traffic went from 78% to 79%. Generated leads increased from 67% to 69%, and marketplace insight jumped from 49% to 56%.
Additional statistics suggest that the longer marketers stick with social media, the more likely they are to see a return-on-investment. For example, approximately 83% of respondents who said they had been using social media marketing for one year or longer said it generated exposure for their business. Marketers who stated that they had been using it for the same period of time reported better results driving traffic.
Finding Social Media Marketing Success on Instagram
As marketers continue to turn to social media to accomplish certain initiatives, previous research indicates that Instagram is being targeted, in particular.
HootSuite conducted its “Social Trends 2021” report, and data suggested that most marketers (61%) intend to boost their investment in Instagram for the remainder of the year. This was followed by Facebook (46%), YouTube (45%) and LinkedIn (44%). Only 26% claimed that they were going to be increasing their investment in Twitter.
That being said, Instagram was not at the top of the list of most effective social media channels for achieving business goals. Facebook ranked number one, with 78% of marketers saying it was the most effective.
