Social, Email Remain Top Digital Marketing Tactics Among Marketers
Whether it’s social media marketing or email marketing, new research shows that marketers are turning to a wide array of digital marketing tactics to achieve their primary objectives.
Clutch recently published the results of its “How Businesses Use Digital Marketing in 2018” survey, and statistics showed that social media (81 percent), website (78 percent) and email (69 percent) are the top three digital marketing channels for marketers.
In terms of digital marketing goals for 2018, the majority of marketers (28 percent) said they want to increase sales/revenue. Nineteen percent want to boost brand awareness, while 15 percent want to convert more leads.
Eighty-three percent of businesses think their digital marketing efforts are effective in helping them achieve their goal(s).
Social Helping Marketers Reach Out to Customers and Prospects
Social media marketing has been a popular digital marketing tactic for quite some time, and previous research suggests that it is being primarily used to reach out to prospects and customers.
Nielsen conducted “The Nielsen CMO Report 2018” and discovered that social media (79 percent) is the most critical digital media channel to marketers. This is followed by search (73 percent) and online video (63 percent).
In terms of effectiveness, most CMOs (69 percent) claim that social media is the most effective digital media channel.
