Survey: AI is the “Next Big Trend” Among Marketers in 2018
New research indicates that artificial intelligence (AI) continues to gain ground among marketers as a prominent tactic.
BrightEdge recently conducted the “2018 Future of Marketing and AI Survey” and discovered that 25.6 percent of marketers view AI as the “next big trend” in marketing in 2018. This was only surpassed by consumer personalization (28.6 percent).
Furthermore, the statistics showed that marketers were interested in integrating AI into their content marketing plans as well. Approximately 48 percent of respondents stated that they were “somewhat” or “very” likely to use AI to develop their content marketing strategy this year. About four percent claimed that they had already integrated it.
“Despite some of the hype surrounding artificial intelligence, this survey shows that AI is very real and marketers are adopting AI-first technology in search and content marketing sectors faster than most,” said Jim Yu, CEO of BrightEdge. “The insights that AI brings allows marketers to make smarter and faster decisions to deliver compelling customer experiences that perform.”
The Progression of AI in Marketing
This research shows the progression of AI as a key marketing tactic compared to just one year ago when marketers remained skeptical.
The “Artificial Intelligence Survey” from ICUC Social used a scale of one to ten (with ten being “extremely important”) to gauge the importance of AI to marketers. In terms of overall impact, marketers gave AI just a 6/10.
About 5.5/10 said it was only “somewhat important” to find AI solutions for their businesses at the time.
