Survey: Marketers Failing to Unlock Full Potential of AI and Voice Search

Marketers are aware of the growing prominence of artificial intelligence (AI) and voice search, but research shows they are still lagging behind in these areas.

BrightEdge recently conducted a survey to gain insight into how marketers are integrating new technology into their existing content marketing strategies. The data indicated that 27 percent of marketers still believe mobile is “the next big thing.” However, 31 percent now believe voice search is the next big thing, while 32 percent said the same about AI.

The majority of marketers (62 percent) do not have plans to prepare for voice search. This is despite the fact that voice accounts for more than 20 percent of all mobile searches.

About 57 percent say it is “not likely” that they will roll out any form of AI this year.

Unlocking the Marketing Potential of AI

Additional research suggests that marketers who take advantage of AI may be able to resolve issues surrounding search engine optimization.

To dive deeper into the challenges of SEO, SearchDex recently surveyed 100 marketers about their strategies. Approximately 91 percent claimed that managing SEO is difficult. Nearly 35 percent said they still do not have the right tools for SEO.

However, the majority of the respondents believed that AI could one day help them overcome these obstacles. Ninety-six percent stated that they could potentially benefit from AI.

In addition, 61 percent said that AI may help them search for anomalies in their existing SEO strategy. Fifty-eight percent believed it could ensure their SEO strategy stays current.

“I worked with KoMarketing during my time at Pongo in a variety of roles. At first, they were doing the work for us, but in the end, they trained my growing team on Search Engine Marketing (SEM). Their education of the importance of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) led to us launching a job search blog, over 30 learning center articles, and a social media campaign. I would not hesitate to recommend the KoMarketing team for any size project you may have.”
