Survey: Social Media Marketers May Want to Shift their Focus to Instagram
Many marketers turn to social media to reach out to their target audiences, but is there a difference in terms of which social networks are best? New research from FacebookIQ suggests that businesses on Instagram may see more benefits than those that are not.
According to a recent survey conducted by FacebookIQ, 78 percent of people perceive brands on Instagram as popular, while 77 percent see them as creative. Seventy-six percent of people view companies on Instagram as entertaining, and 74 percent consider them to be relevant. This suggests that marketers may want to consider Instagram while crafting a social media marketing strategy.
In terms of sales, Instagram seems to pay off – literally. About 54 percent of people who were surveyed said that they either made a purchase in the moment or after seeing a product or service on Instagram.
Finding Target Customers through Social Media Marketing
Marketers have shown an interest in investing in social media in the past, but are their target customers really on platforms, such as Instagram? Previous research indicates that the answer is yes.
The Manifest conducted a survey of 627 social media users to learn more about their habits and preferred social media platforms. Statistics showed that almost everyone (86 percent) uses social media at least once per day, and 72 percent use it multiple times per day.
In terms of most-used platforms, Facebook leads the way (82 percent), followed by YouTube (75 percent) and Instagram (53 percent).
